If you’ve ever found yourself staring at a blank wall in your house, thinking that there is ‘something’ missing, but not quite knowing what, it is probably time to start thinking about wall décor. Wall décor is an important part of any comfortable home. Walls surround us constantly, and, if no importance whatsoever is given to wall décor, it is possible that we may begin to feel trapped.
There are endless possibilities when it comes to wall décor: the possibilities to spice up your walls seem to never end. It is advisable to first sit back and notice the other decorations and colors you have used in any given room. Your wall décor should not be something that competes with the rest of the surroundings, but instead something that blends into it seamlessly.
Many people erroneously think that wall décor consists solely of paintings. This is not the case. Other examples of items that can be used for wall décor include: decorative mirrors, wall shelves, decorative plates, different types of clocks or even the more retro wall fountains.
Mirrors come in all shapes, sizes and styles to match whatever wall décor you are aiming for. There are more classic mirrors that fall under the Victorian style (usually placed in the living room, dining room or more formal areas of the house) or more antique (usually made of wood) mirrors for areas such as the bedroom. Obviously, mirrors are also a great choice for the wall décor of a bathroom: both beautiful and practical.
Decorative clocks can also add excitement to any wall décor. They too, come in all shapes and sizes, and some even fit neatly into specific themes a homeowner may be trying to achieve. The same can be said for decorative plates. In fact, any small treasures or collections one has can be displayed beautifully as part of their wall décor, on a simple (or not so simple) wall shelf.
Wall décor is unbelievably important, as it turns a simple house into a warm, unique and beautiful home. It is a sure fire way to make your home a great reflection of yourself.
